Basic Wig Guide Here are 3 simple steps to measure your head to determine the size of your wig CAP:
Before measuring, make sure to flatten your hair. This will take into consideration the fact that you'll probably wear a wig mesh CAP under your wig for a more comfortable fit and secure. Use a cloth tape measure, being sure not to pull the measuring tape too tight. All the rest of the band above or around your head. By pulling the tape measure too tight will stretch the band and will not give you an accurate measurment. While it is important to obtain an accurate measurement to determine the size of your CAP wig, keep in mind that most wigs have tabs that allow an inch of adjustment for a more secure fit.
1) Measure around your head: Measure the total distance around your head from your hairline on the forehead just above the ears and around the back of the neck to the elbow and on the front your head.
2) Measure Front to Back: Tilt your head back. Then measure from your hairline to the front of your forehead, back on the crown of the curve where the head meets the top of your neck.
3) Measurement of the ear to ear: Measuring the top front of the ear, attach the measuring tape and on the crown of your head at the same position on your other ear.
The 3 measures listed above will determine the circumference, depth and width of your wig cap and let you choose your correct size.
