Is it dangeous for my dog to drink the pool water if stabilizer is added? We have a swimming pool with a saltwater chlorination electronic device so as not to add chlorine, except when the shock. The sun burns the chlorine so fast we were going to add cyanuric acid to stabilize, but I wonder if it would be bad for my dog because he drinks lots of water while swimming with his mouth open, the nut. Any thoughts? Does anyone else have a pool with a stabilizer that allows their dog to swim? Thank you
your puppy is fine. I was in the swimming pool industry for a loooong time and I had a large number of customers who drink occasionally their dogs swimming. You have nothing to worry about regarding the chlorine harm your best friend. The chlorine should exceed 10-15ppm to do damage to most body tissues, according to several articles I have been exposed. This course has been lab rats, but we are all carbon-based law anyway? :) Even the public pools are generally not approach these levels. The only time I'd be a little worried, he is shortly after treatment of algae, when chlorine can get as high as 15 ppm for short periods of time. Generally, most of my clients say their dogs know to avoid the pool at that time anyway, most K9s are smarter than we give them credit.
I should also note that if there was a danger of ingesting water in a swimming pool for dogs, it would also potentially dangerous to humans. In this case, the pool would probably not even exist, or they would lead a kind of gigantic warning label. ^ _ ~ So you all the people panicking about it, calm down .. I'd rather drink pool water than most tap water ... If only you knew!
