Permanent Purple Hair Dye

I swim 6 days a week want to dye my hair purple with Deep Purple first permanent hair dyes, but I fear that the chlorine will do to her. Chlorine will destroy my hair color and make funny colors or will it go dull and bad? Does anyone have experience with this?
