Hog Hair

Posted on September 2, 2010.
Hog HairHog hair or synthetic hair for oil painting?

you can use. it's just a matter of preferrable. the hair of pigs will be coarser than synthetic and you will not be able to get the best work with her.

Synthetic bristles are recommended for acrylics. The paint runs off the bristles more freely, and here's why;

Natural hog bristles have split ends and tiny burrs on the people who hold the paint and not let go ... which makes the bouquet of paint on the brush and also makes them difficult to clean.

Go with synthetic if you want a smooth finish or if you want to mix - you'll see the difference.
