Hair Lightener

I bought this for my daughter hair lightener Walmart is supposed to lighten your hair while you're in the sun or using a hair dryer. Has anyone used this product before? Is it effective? The brand name is Sun In Hair Lightening. My daughter does not use it because she swears it will not work on her hair very dark.
