Dark Ash Brown

I was dead my hair medium brown, it is quite dark and it is quite close to my natural color. Im thinking from the color change and I really like ash is light brown (the perfect representation of what would Clairol Natural Instincts TWEED). I was wondering if it is indeed possible to lighten hair without getting some hair coppery red and exactly ash brown? And is it better to go to a salon? Suggestions? (I live in San Francisco, CA)

Luckily I have some experience in this field. If your hair is brown and you want to go lighter. I wish first to bleach the color out right. because if you put another color in the first place, it may not be the color you want. go to a salon would be more expensive, but it might be safer for your hair. Just a tip. If you bleach careful what you buy. go to Sally and have professional or tips you f **** your hair. you do not want to fry. and after staining batches, use conditioner. and continue to use it. and I would also use a leave in conditioner. just to get your hair healthy again. because every time he turns it screwed up.
