The ceramic became those of the type chosen for many for a number of reasons including the fact that they are less damaging to the hair and use ceramic heating elements heat up quickly.

It has been proved by the first models using rectifiers can be damaging to the hair if not used correctly or too much, it still applies today and the chances of getting split ends, or brittle and broken hair is increased.
