Antibacterial Shampoo

Posted on January 27, 2010.
Antibacterial ShampooIs it allowed to use antibacterial shampoo near the mouth of my dog's eyes?

Shampoo contains benzoyl peroxide and sulfur. My dog has some bad spots around his lips and eyes. Would it be allowed to apply shampoo near these areas as I do on the rest of his body?

Absolutely not !!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not use anywhere near the mouth or eyes !!!!!

If you read on the bottles it says not to use it there. It can and will do damage and irritate the eyes and mouth. I have used for years benzoyl treat dogs and know what I say.

I would not without a veterinary diagnosis that these patches are. This shampoo is very harsh on the skin unless the ingredients are good for treating the problem, it will make matters worse, not better.

Check your last question you asked along these same lines. I advise you exactly the same in this case.

I do not want. The sulfur is likely to irritate them even more.
